Ubud is the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali — rice paddies, art markets, yoga retreats, and warungs. Don't expect a beach — for that go south (Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu). Combine Ubud with a coastal stop for a balanced trip.
When to visit
Best months: Apr, May, Jun, Sep, Oct
Dry season is roughly May-October. Shoulder months have the best balance of weather and crowds.
Avoid: December-February wet season — humid and afternoon downpours. July-August are dry but very crowded.
