New York City travel guide

Five boroughs, five experiences. Most first-timers stay in Manhattan and cross to Brooklyn for a day; repeat visitors flip this. The subway is essential and faster than driving. The food is more international than any other US city by an enormous margin.

When to visit

Best months: Apr, May, Jun, Sep, Oct

Spring and fall are ideal. October has beautiful weather and energy.

Avoid: July-August can be brutal and humid; January-February are cold but real city without tourists.
